Frontotemporal Dementia

Frontotemporal Dementia  Photo Frontotemporal dementia refers to the brain disorder mainly caused by the degeneration of the front or temporal lobes of the brain. This area is generally associated with personality, behavior and language. The disorder is characterized pathologically argyrophylic inclusion bodies within the cytoplasm of the cells of the cortex. There is no treatment, death occurring within 2-3 years of  the onset.      
  • Behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia
  • Semantic variant primary progressive aphasia
  • Non-fluent/Agrammatic variant primary progressive aphasia
